What is a check code?
A short code the app creates for every photo. Whoever enters it sees the original photo and when and roughly where it was taken.
How do I get a check code for my photo?
Take the photo in the katitrust app and tap “Use photo”. The app shows you the check code right away, ready to share in a chat.
How long can a photo be checked?
For 24 hours. After that the photo is deleted, and the code only shows that it has expired.
What does katitrust cost?
Nothing. Capturing, sharing the code and checking are free, and you don't need an account.
Do I need the app to check a code?
No. You can check any code in the browser too, for example on our home page.
Can I upload photos from my gallery?
No. That's the only way to be sure a photo was only just taken.
How exact is the place?
To about 10 kilometres. We never store your exact position.
Does the code show who took the photo?
No. It shows that the photo is real and unchanged. Whether it fits the listing or the profile is for you to judge.
Is there an iPhone app?
Soon. katitrust is already on Google Play for Android, and the iPhone app is coming shortly.
